Job Description

Elevated Academy, in collaboration with a behavioral health facility, is seeking motivated and compassionate General Education Teachers to join our team within a specialized lab learning environment in the Girls' Unit. This position is essential for delivering high-quality educational content through the Edgenuity computer-based learning management system, tailored to meet the diverse learning needs of adolescents undergoing treatment. The General Education Teacher will work under the guidance of the Special Education / Lead Teacher, playing a critical role in supporting our educational mission and contributing to our students' recovery and academic success.

Responsibilities

• Deliver curriculum via the Edgenuity platform to middle and high school students, ensuring that content is accessible and engaging.
• Collaborate with the Special Education / Lead Teacher to adapt teaching strategies and materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with IEPs.
• Monitor student progress, providing individualized support and feedback to promote academic and personal growth.
• Participate in planning and implementing instructional activities that contribute to a dynamic and effective learning environment.
• Maintain regular communication with the Special Education / Lead Teacher, reporting on students' progress, challenges, and achievements.
• Assist in the management of the lab environment, ensuring a safe and conducive setting for learning and recovery.
• Engage with mental health professionals as needed to align educational efforts with therapeutic goals.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and understanding of students' therapeutic needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or behavioral health related field.
• Valid teaching certification preferred but not required.
• Experience in a general education setting; experience in a special education or therapeutic educational setting is a plus.
• Familiarity with computer-based learning management systems, preferably Edgenuity, or willingness to learn.
• Ability to develop and implement effective teaching strategies tailored to diverse learners.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to the principles of recovery and education, with a passion for supporting adolescents facing mental health and substance use challenges.
