About the Role:

We are excited to partner with a leading P&C Insurance provider seeking a skilled Commercial Casualty Underwriter to join their team. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to leverage your underwriting expertise, evaluate risks, and contribute to the growth of a dynamic portfolio while building strong relationships with brokers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Risk Evaluation: Assess, approve, modify, or decline insurance applications based on company guidelines and detailed analysis of risk factors such as loss history and the nature of the business.
• Coverage Decisions: Determine appropriate coverage options and premiums, documenting exceptions and providing thorough justifications for decisions.
• Broker Relationships: Develop and maintain strong connections with wholesale and retail brokers to solicit new and renewal business opportunities.
• Communication and Resolution: Clearly communicate underwriting decisions and address concerns or questions from customers and brokers.
• Compliance and Review: Participate in audits and ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, contributing to process improvements when necessary.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: 3–5 years of underwriting experience in the Commercial Casualty space, with a proven track record of managing complex accounts.
• Broker Relationships: Established connections with wholesale and retail brokers, with the ability to expand and nurture these relationships.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on collaboration and customer service.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
• Teamwork and Independence: A self-starter who can work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
