Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lighting Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in architectural lighting and a passion for design and customer service. Candidates with an ALA (American Lighting Association) certification or equivalent qualifications are strongly preferred.

As a Lighting Specialist at Maison & Co., you will play a key role in driving sales, advising clients on lighting solutions, and ensuring projects achieve both aesthetic and functional excellence.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Rotating Schedule on Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (When scheduled to work on a Saturday, you will receive a designated day off during the week.)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new opportunities to grow Maison & Co.’s lighting portfolio.
  • Work closely with the Business Development team to convert leads into long-term clients.
  • Provide expert guidance on architectural and decorative lighting solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Assist clients with lighting layout design and specifications.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, clearly articulating benefits and features to clients.
  • Leverage your technical expertise to ensure clients make informed decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales interactions and transactions using the company’s CRM.
  • Attend industry events and networking functions to build relationships and identify potential leads.
  • Travel to project design meetings and site visits to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Business, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • ALA Certification (preferred but not required).

Knowledge & Skills:

Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of architectural lighting systems, including technical and design aspects.
  • Familiarity with residential construction processes and construction documents.
  • Knowledge of lighting products and current industry trends.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in lighting design, sales, or related fields (electrical contracting or distribution preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and closing abilities.
  • Organizational and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently to achieve goals.
