Yes! This is the job for you! APPLY NOW! Position Overview: The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) will be responsible for providing direct care services to individuals facing mental health issues, operating under the supervision of the Program Director.
The primary objective of the BHT will be to promote the physical and emotional well-being of clients by providing encouragement, guidance, and support in achieving their mental health goals. As a representative of Atlantic Behavioral Health, the BHT will collaborate with mental health professionals to deliver comprehensive care to clients. Specifically, the BHT will help to monitor and evaluate patient progress, and provide support to patients in their evening group sessions.
Responsibilities: ●Executing the daily and weekly structure for all levels of care clients.
● Overseeing and monitoring clients in all levels of care.
● Orientating new clients to the facility and the evening IOP schedule including keeping an accurate headcount
● Facilitating communication with ancillary services.
● Provides direct care and support to clients in an intensive outpatient mental health program
● On Wednesdays you will set up telehealth groups with patients and clinicians
● Monitors clients’ compliance with treatment goals and program requirements
● Facilitates educational groups on mental health
● Provides crisis intervention and de-escalation support to clients in need
● Conducts regular check-ins with clients to evaluate their progress and make necessary adjustments to
treatment plans
● Collaborates with community resources, including treatment facilities, social services, and medical
providers, to coordinate client care and support
● Maintains accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation in compliance with program and
state regulations
● Participates in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education to enhance knowledge and
skills in addiction and mental health fields
● Building positive relationships with clients
● Demonstrating adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment.
● Complete Incident Reports and any other safety/risk issues immediately to
the Program Director.
● Providing a safe, therapeutic environment for staff and clients.
Minimum Qualifications: ● High School Diploma or equivalent preferred with minimum 2 years experience in related field;
Bachelor’s degree in related field with one year experience in mental health treatment or substance abuse treatment.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● Strong organizational and time-management skills
● Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
● A minimum of 1 year experience in treatment industry
● Current and valid Massachusetts Driver License.
● Current CPR certification and First Aid.
