ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• • Ensure that all security risks have been identified, treated and mitigated to an acceptable level for the whole mine.
  • Ensure compliance to all legal standards and leading practices
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of security procedures and practices to enable effective mitigation of potential losses
  • Ensure effective deployment, management and utilization of security systems and technology to minimize risk
  • Develop internal and external networks and contacts for information gathering
  • Investigate all on-site crime related incidents
  • Ensure security of product on trucks leaving the mine
  • Provide people leadership within departments and contractors
  • Apply knowledge of relevant security related legislation/policies/procedures

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experienced in managing security on a mine
• Comprehensive understanding of security function gained through formal education and completed with practical experience as security official or member of SAPS
• Experience in conducting forensic investigations, recognising criminal incident behaviour, suspect profiling etc.
• Building relationships across a range of stakeholders internally and externally
• SAPS firearm competency advantageous
• Computer literate, valid driver’s license
