Description SAIC is seeking a
Systems Engineer to directly support the F/A-18 & EA-18G Flight Plan Team within PMA 265 at Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) in Patuxent River, MD. In this role the candidate will provide engineering and analytical support to the Flight Plan team and the Integrated Product Teams across PMA-265 for pre-Milestone A technical activities. PMA 265 is the F/A-18 and EA-18 Program Office supporting the Navy, Marine Corps, and international partners across the F/A-18 A-D, E/F, and G variants.
Candidate will work onsite co-located with the PMA-265 Flight Plan Team in Patuxent River, MD. This will be a hybrid remote position requiring 2-3 days onsite.
Responsibilities include: - Develop technical requirements documents with Integrated Product Teams.
- Understand the PMA-265 platforms, missions, and system architecture to then create requirements documentation to add capability to the platforms.
- Coordinate Platform Interface with Mission Area System-of-Systems Stakeholders.
- Coordinate and Transition approved Flight Plan efforts (Program of Records) to appropriate Pillar/IPT teams.
- System Development of Architectures to support the following activities
- Trade studies, Concept Exploration and Development, Initial Technical Reviews, POM issue development, and resource management & allocations associated with Pre-Milestone A activities and decisions.
- Coordinate and assist in the creation of architectural products, trade studies, and POM issue sheets with system-of-system stakeholder PMAs & entities.
- Ensure system-of-systems requirements are embedded into program developmental documents (Reqts Specs, SOWs, CDRLs, RFIs, MBSE artifacts).
- Track and communicate technical margin constraints such as SWAP-C and computer resourcing that must be considered in capability development and requirements allocations.
- Coordinate possible trade studies with expertise in applicable IPTs and facilitate transition of efforts to those IPTs for post-Milestone A activities.
- Support Science and Technology (S&T) Lead with experimentation tracking and execution and coordinate with S&T Lead on future demonstrations in areas required to reduce mission capability gaps and create technical and programmatic plans to increase low TRL concepts.
Qualifications Required Experience: - Bachelor's degree in relevant technical discipline and 3+ years of relevant Engineering Experience.
- Minimum of an active Interim Secret clearance is required.
- Experience with Program, Planning, Budgeting, and Execution System.
- Experience with System Architecture & Models, Trade Studies, System Engineering Plans, Tech Reviews, POM issue sheets, Requirements Analysis, Allocation, and Management.
Desired Experience:
- Experience with NAVAIR Program Office environments and processes.
- Experience with fixed wing USN and USMC aircraft platforms and systems.
